The History of Vinegar
How was Vinegar Discovered?
Vinegar was known to humans for centuries. There were numerous ways acetic acid was discovered. It is still unclear to whom had discovered the miraculous substance at first, but it was most likely known that acetic acid was discovered throughout the process of making wine. When the fruit juices used in the process of making wine were fermented for too long, vinegar was formed. For this is why acetic acid was named after the Latin word acetum, which means vinegar.
